Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 14, 2026. This policy explains what ShortVidAI (shortvidai.com) collects when you use our Instagram Reel download and trim tool, and how we use that information.
Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to our website and related online services at shortvidai.com. It does not cover information collected offline or through third-party sites we do not control (for example, Instagram).
Consent
By using ShortVidAI, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the service.
What we do not store
ShortVidAI is designed so that video media is not kept on our servers. When you fetch a Reel, the server streams bytes for that request only. Trim, mute, and export run in your browser. We do not build a library of downloaded videos or keep lasting copies of your media files.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use the site, we may process:
- Request logs — for each fetch or client-reported process event: IP address, user-agent, timestamp, the Instagram URL you submitted, success/failure, and optional technical metadata (for example request id or duration). These logs support abuse prevention, debugging, and accountability.
- Contact messages — if you use our contact form: name, email, subject, message text, and IP. We use this only to respond to your inquiry.
- Technical / network hints — limited headers such as accept-language or forwarded-for may be logged with access events. These are not used to identify you beyond operations and security.
- Usage analytics — when enabled, we use Google Analytics via Firebase Analytics (GA4) to understand page views and high-level product events (for example fetch or export success/failure). Event payloads do not include Instagram URLs or message body text. Google may process data under its own terms; see Google Privacy Policy.
We do not require account registration. We do not ask for payment card details on this MVP.
How we use information
- Operate and maintain ShortVidAI
- Diagnose failures and improve reliability
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and automated misuse
- Respond when you contact us
- Comply with applicable law when required
Log files
Like most web services, we keep server and application logs. Logged fields typically include IP address, browser user-agent, date/time, the URL you asked us to fetch, and whether the action succeeded. These entries are not used to build advertising profiles and are not linked to a named account (we do not offer accounts).
Cookies and similar technologies
We may use cookies or local storage needed for basic site function, preferences, or measurement. Firebase Analytics / Google Analytics may set cookies or use similar identifiers to measure usage. Third-party advertising partners (if enabled) may set their own cookies or use pixels. ShortVidAI does not control those third-party technologies; see their policies for details.
Advertising partners
ShortVidAI may show third-party ads via Google AdSense. Advertising partners such as Google may use cookies to serve and measure ads. You can learn more about Google's ad technologies at policies.google.com/technologies/ads. We do not sell your personal information as that term is commonly understood under CCPA.
Third-party services
Fetching Instagram media depends on Instagram and related infrastructure. Their privacy practices are governed by Meta/Instagram policies, not ours. Usage measurement uses Google Firebase Analytics. Links from our site to other websites are not covered by this policy.
CCPA-style rights (California)
If you are a California resident, you may have rights to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you
- Request deletion of personal information we hold, subject to exceptions
- Opt out of “sale” of personal information (we do not sell personal data)
To make a request, use our Contact page. We aim to respond within the timeframes required by law.
GDPR-style rights (EEA/UK)
Where applicable, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to data portability. Contact us to exercise these rights. We will respond within applicable legal deadlines.
Children
ShortVidAI is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided information to us, please contact us so we can delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page. Continued use of ShortVidAI after an update means you accept the revised policy.
